About LGL Innovation

LGL Innovation

 Lauren Lowery is a multidisciplinary author, archivist and historian. Her work and research centers on urban artforms, creative professionals, Blackness, anti-Blackness, movement and their intersections to create frameworks for reimagining the role that culture plays in the redevelopment of transforming African American lifes and communities . Her scholarship investigates disruptive mediums and Black radical traditions in education. At her core she is an activist and Pan-Africanist weaving technologies to illuminate traditions and challenge limitations.


Lowery is also co-founder of the Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation who has curated exhibitions at Northwestern University, The Pinterest Corporation and Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago. She also co-authored the book Voices and Visions: The Evolution of the Black Experience at Northwestern University (2018) and has been published in the award winning news outlet TheTriibe.com. She is a WNUR-FM radio DJ and podcast executive producer of the Vintage House Show.
